We believe that wine is made equally in the vineyard and in the winery. In the vineyards, we focus on older well-established vines with natural balance. In the cellar we work to capture what the vines give us…to make wines that exude freshness, bright acidity, complexity, and depth.

2017 Sauvignon Blanc

The 2017 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from St. Helena old vines. The dry-farmed vines produce fruit with excellent balance. We whole cluster pressed the berries and allowed the juice to settle in tank for 24 hours prior to being transferred to French oak barrels to cold ferment (40% new oak, 50% cigar shape barrels) for 5-6 weeks in the cellar. The wine was then aged in barrel for 19 months with very little intervention and was only racked one time prior to bottling.

High in acid, fresh and crisp, the nose expresses notes of lemon zest, lime, citrus, peaches and a hint of passion fruit. In the mouth, the wine is textural with great mid-palate weight, a hint of sweetness from the lees contact and well-integrated oak. A long lingering finish with an excellent natural acidity and layers of flavor round out this stellar wine.

The 2017 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot sourced from multiple vineyards that we farm in-house. A great representation of the vintage, it’s a blend of four different appellations (Coombsville, Oak Knoll, Oakville and St. Helena) and was aged for 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels and an additional 6 months in bottle, prior to release.

On the nose, beautiful red fruit and fresh strawberry notes, followed by hints of violet and creme de cassis are enhanced by excellent acidity and tannin structure. Mid to full-bodied, the wine is layered with flavors without being overwhelming and the long, lingering finish leaves you with essence of dark chocolate, black cherry and a hint of vanilla.

2016 Cabernet Sauvignon ~ Reserve

The La Pelle Reserve is a blend composed mostly of Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The wine is selected from our best lots and aged for 21 months in 80% new French Oak barrels. Dark and powerful with excellent structure, the wine has a vibrant texture and layers of well-integrated tannins. Amongst the layers of dark cherry and plum, there lies a hint of dark chocolate and a long, lingering finish. The wine is drinking well young but is built to age for years to come.
