Coombsville, Napa Valley
Ceniza Vineyard

The 2022 vintage will be remembered as a dry vintage. After a fairly dry winter, we enjoyed spring rain that helped establish good canopies for the rest of the season. The summer was warm across the valley. We saw a big advantage in Coombsville due to the volcanic soils and cooler climate. This wine is all about balance and precision. Blue and red fruit aromas of cherry and plums are layered with subtle hints of earth and crushed gravel. On the palate, it’s refined and elegant, with silky tannins and fresh acidity that carries the wine’s energy. A touch of cedar and baking spices emerges on the finish, adding depth without overpowering. Harvested at perfect ripeness, this wine reflects the unique personality of the vintage. It is softer and more approachable as a young wine compared to the well-structured 2021 vintage. The wine is quite powerful and built to age gracefully.
